Step 2: Check Import Eligibility
Before importing, confirm the car complies with Kenya’s import regulations:
✅ Vehicle age limit: Must be 8 years or less from the year of first registration.
✅ Right-hand drive (RHD): Only RHD vehicles allowed.
✅ Roadworthiness: Vehicle must be inspected by approved agencies (e.g. QISJ or JEVIC).
✅ No accident history: Cars with major accidents or structural damage are prohibited.

Step 5: Pre-Shipment Inspection

Ensure the exporter organizes inspection with QISJ, JEVIC, or AutoTerminal.
You’ll receive a Certificate of Roadworthiness, which is required by Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS).
Step 6: Shipping to Mombasa Port
Once payment is complete and inspection is done, the car is shipped (usually by RoRo or container).
Typical transit time:

- From UK/UAE: 3–5 weeks
You will receive a Bill of Lading (B/L) and shipping documents from the exporter.
Step 7: Port Clearance in Mombasa
